Software Engineer (Meteorological and Geospatial Data)

Location: Remote

Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Software Engineer with a strong background in Python and preferably C++ to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working with meteorological data formats such as GRIB, NetCDF and BUFR, as well as other geospatial data formats like TIFF, Zarr, and GeoJSON. In addition to software development skills, the candidate should be proficient in cloud technologies including Kubernetes and cloud storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software applications that process and analyze meteorological and geospatial data.
  • Work with a variety of data formats, including GRIB, BUFR, TIFF, and GeoJSON.
  • Implement and manage solutions on cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of our software practices.
  • Independently troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in cloud computing and data processing.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in meteorology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Python; knowledge of C++ is a plus.
  • Strong experience with meteorological and geospatial data formats (GRIB, BUFR, TIFF, GeoJSON, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes and cloud storage preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

UI/UX Front-End Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and efficient web applications for data analysis.
